The coffee table, beautiful and practical
The living room is one of those area where you spend most of your time, to relax alone or with your family, perhaps reading a good book or watching TV, or even meeting friends and relatives, thus becoming the center of the home.
In short, it is an area of the house that, more than others, must be particularly functional and versatile. From this point of view, a modern coffee table becomes a very important element, because it can be very useful and can become one of the protagonists of the whole environment, that extra touch of design that must not go unnoticed.
Generally, the coffee table is placed in front of the sofa, in such a way as to constitute a practical support surface for all those objects that are usually kept at hand (telephone, remote controls, cups, glasses, magazines, books, etc.), or even next to the sofa itself: in this case, it can also become a useful base for placing a reading lamp, for example.
Height and other characteristics of the coffee tables for the living room
The height of the coffee table is a very important aspect and must be evaluated according to the sofa: usually, it should be a little lower than the seat, so as to facilitate the movements to take the objects that are on it. Only if it is placed next to the sofa, then it should be higher than the seat but slightly lower than the armrest.
As for the choice of shape, materials and colors, there is really plenty of choice. They range from the more traditional lines, where wood or crystal prevail, up to the more modern and design ones, in which we also find a lot of metal or innovative and alternative materials.
The tables in ethnic style or made in rattan or wicker are also very popular.
