Woods:

Lacquered oak: 0.6 mm thick European oak veneer on panel; the surface of the veneer is brushed to accentuate the natural grain of the wood, then a layer of acrylic primer is applied followed by matt coloured lacquering (for lacquer characteristics see related item) Fashion Wood and Antique Oak: 0.6 mm thick European oak veneer on panel. 0.6 mm thick, veneered on a panel; the surface of the veneer is brushed to accentuate the natural grain of the wood, then a water-based stain is applied, followed by a transparent water-based primer, which is then overlaid with a layer of 5 gloss solvent acrylic finish (for the characteristics of the varnishes, see the relative item). Elm: 0.6 mm thick elm veneer on a panel; the surface of the veneer is brushed to accentuate the natural grain of the wood and give the material hardness, then a water-based stain is applied, followed by a transparent water-based primer, which is then overlaid with a coat of 5 gloss solvent acrylic finish (for the characteristics of the varnishes, see the relative item). Thermocotto: 0.6 mm thick European oak veneer on a panel; the surface of the veneer is brushed to accentuate the natural grain of the wood, then a transparent solvent acrylic primer is applied, followed by a layer of 5 gloss transparent matt solvent acrylic finish (for the characteristics of the varnishes see the relative item).

Varnishes:

For lacquering, only varnishes that comply with all safety requirements are used: in particular, they do not contain substances classified 1 and 2 by law 203/88 D.M. 1207/1990 on the emission of solvents such as trieline, isocyanates, acetaldehyde, formic acid, etc... For the dyeing of the wood, pigment mixtures and a transparent catalysed polyurethane matt varnish with an opacity of 5 to 10 gloss, resistant to yellowing, are used. The gloss polyurethane varnish applied with a thickness of 40/45 microns (520 to 600 g/m2) has a gloss level of 94/98 gloss. Matt polyurethane paint applied with a thickness of 40/45 microns (260 to 300 g/ m2) has a gloss level of 10/15 gloss. The gloss is a parameter for measuring the degree of opacity of a paint product, which varies from 0 (maximum opacity) to 100 (maximum gloss).

KITCHEN MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING

Ennobled and laminated parts:

Clean with a soft cloth and liquid detergent, rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive or aggressive products containing alcohol or solvents. It is recommended not to use products containing thinners or acetone as they may cause deformation or softening in the edges themselves.

Wooden or veneered parts:

Clean only with a soft cloth dampened with water and dry thoroughly. Do not rub vigorously as this may affect the gloss of the paint. Do not use products containing acetone, chlorine, thinners or abrasive detergents.

Lacquered parts:

Clean only with a soft cloth dampened with water and dry thoroughly. Do not use products containing acetone, chlorine, thinners or abrasive detergents. It is possible that during the first cleaning, the cloth will remain slightly coloured. This is due to the presence of lacquer powders that come to the surface during the drying process: once removed, they will no longer appear.

Laminate (HPL) or FENIX® worktops:

Use a damp sponge or cloth. Use a normal, non-abrasive detergent for washable surfaces. It is recommended to dry thoroughly immediately after cleaning. Avoid direct contact with very hot pots and pans, which could cause heat stains or raising of the laminate.

K-Proof® stone worktops:

For daily cleaning it is recommended to use degreasers following the instructions on the packaging.

Marble/Granite tops:

For routine cleaning we recommend timely cleaning and the use of neutral detergents and water. The tops can also be treated 1-2 times a year with specific waterproofing products. Acid products (e.g. alcohol or hydrochloric acid, vinegar and lemon juice), which would have a corrosive effect and make the marble surface rough and dull, thus losing its polish. -Detergents containing hydrofluoric acid (HF), phosphoric acid (H3PO4) and hydrochloric acid (HCL), which has the power to completely dissolve the quartz that makes up silicates. Ammonia, which is not acidic but basic, can be used. Granite, on the other hand, is resistant to weak acids such as alcohol, vinegar, citric acid and also to some strong acids used in domestic cleaning such as muriatic (sulphuric) acid. In any case, strong acids should only be used in extreme cases and all other less powerful cleaning agents should be tried first. Anti-limescale products should be avoided at all costs for natural stone. Natural stone is not sensitive to heat.

Corian® tops:

Corian® surfaces can be cleaned with detergents or abrasive creams such as "Cif" in a circular motion. Scratches: the surface can be scratched by blades or sharp objects: avoid cutting or chopping directly on the top. Heat: Heat can damage the surface: do not place hot pans directly on the top or on Corian® sinks. Always use a trivet. Do not pour boiling water in large quantities over the Corian® sink. However, signs of ageing can be erased by polishing: it can be restored to its original appearance even after many years.

Cementitious resin or cement countertops:

For everyday cleaning, we recommend using a non-abrasive microfibre cloth with a neutral detergent, e.g. multipurpose, ammonia-free. For an even less aggressive and ecological cleaning, distilled water and vinegar at about 20/30% can be used. For more stubborn dirt, degreasers can be used with a microfibre cloth. Under no circumstances should acids, alcohol, acetone, pure ethyl alcohol or nail polish remover be used.

Dekton worktops:

For daily dry cleaning (environmental dusting) just use a wet cloth without additives. For daily wet cleaning, a neutral detergent in the manufacturer's recommended dosage and a cloth are sufficient. In the case of persistent stains that have adhered to the surface, it is recommended to consult the Cosentino® Customer Service Department. Always avoid the use of abrasive components that could damage the surface of the material.
