Furniture project TA-14

Design and realisation of open space, bathroom and laundry furniture.

Newly built detached house in the province of Pordenone.

Customers turned to us for the furnishing of their new home, contacting us for the purchase of furniture.

Initially, the customers relied on the plan drawing that the builder had provided them with. The proposed solution did not convince them completely, and after a few meetings where we listened to their needs and learnt their tastes, we changed the distribution of the furniture in the design of the house. This was possible because the house was still under construction and therefore we were able to study and change the distribution of space, the arrangement of sockets and the arrangement of lighting points, without any additional costs for the construction part.

Having defined the distribution of the furnishings, we went into detail by defining a very simple but striking colour mood, with colour contrasts enhanced by dark details and warm wood nuances. This mood board was maintained throughout the project also in the bathroom furniture. At this stage our work was used to balance the contrasts by dosing and suggesting the finishes to achieve the desired result: the perception of a large open space with well-defined sub-rooms.

The designed open space features a spacious corner kitchen with an attached peninsula, which allows guests to have excellent storage space but also an extended work surface given their passion for cooking. Adjacent to the kitchen, we opted for an extendable table with a wood-effect top that can seat up to 14 people.

We gave a lot of value to the kitchen space knowing that customers like to cook and have lunches and dinners with friends. The open space was designed according to their living needs, giving value to their requests and balancing design with functionality.

The equipped wall designed around the television and the comfortable sofa with peninsula that complete the furniture of the open space were designed for the comfort of the customers. In fact, the simple and dynamic living room furniture has been designed with geometries of voids and solids that have also been taken up in the wall unit doors with different thicknesses. The particular sofa with its deep seat has the special feature of backrests that can be moved forwards and backwards, allowing one to lie down comfortably while relaxing.

The project also extends into the bathroom, where in a minimalist but functional way we have created a suspended solution with a boxed top with an integrated sink overhanging the drawers. The essential and elegant geometry of this bathroom composition is also highlighted by the wall-mounted tap.

Finally, for the laundry room, we opted for a solution with as much capacity as possible and sought the right compromise between functionality and economy.

The customers were very pleased with the end result and we were even more so because we were able to add value to the project that was specially tailored to their tastes. A successful project that was able to fully meet the customers' needs thanks to the fact that it was possible to "start with the furniture and then build the house".
